Meet Annabel Clark-Clements who is currently in week two of the Peter Swords King Television & Film Makeup & Hair Course at The Bath Academy of Media Makeup. We took some time out from the course to get to know her better. Here is what Annabel told us about herself.
After starting university last September, I realised a degree just wasn’t for me, I needed something more hands-on and a course lead by industry professionals. When I found BAMM I instantly knew it was the course for me, I called my university tutor on my train home and told her I was leaving.
I’ve always been very creative since I was young and knew I wanted to work in that industry. When I left school I qualified my level 2 and 3 in Media makeup, since then I have been freelancing as a makeup artist.
The artists that inspire me are Sarah Jagger, Pat McGrath, Nikki Wolff, Danessa Myricks and Gucci Westman.
Makeup isn’t something I was really interested until I was 17, I then realised all the different areas and possibilities you have when working in the industry. I now love doing makeup, making people feel amazing and getting to be creative at the same time.
I love the fashion side of makeup, from the naturally glowy skin to completely over the top avant-garde looks. If I could jump forward and say exactly where I want to be, I’d love to be doing makeup for Vogue and Elle magazine.
I’m excited to see what’s to come over the next year!
