The BAMM Bridal Hair and Makeup Course is designed to teach you the art of achieving classically flawless and stunningly beautiful makeup and hair for bridal, beauty and photographic work.

Each student receives a professional makeup artist kit worth over £1500, packed full of essential items. Well known brands such as MAC and Bobbi Brown cosmetics, Louise Young brush set. Also included is a portable Iwata airbrush kit and many other professional hair tools and equipment needed to achieve every look. This will ensure you are able to work professionally from the moment you leave BAMM. Each makeup item is handpicked and reviewed from term to term by Melanie herself, to make sure the kits are always up to date and on trend.

Professional Photoshoot

1 x professional photo shoot to build your portfolio and enable you to work skillfully with photographers either in a studio environment and/ or during a wedding day (model to be provided by student).

BAMM Agency

BAMM has a makeup agency for BAMM graduates only. We do not take a percentage for providing this service; we simply use this as a portal of communication for clients wishing to find a talented makeup and hair artist in their area. So, once you have your website and/ or social media links set up, just notify us and you will automatically be added to our BAMM agency page for clients to contact you directly!

The Course

The BAMM bridal hair and makeup course has been written by Melanie Weekley, (founder and academy principal of BAMM) and has proven to be one of the most popular courses that we offer.

The syllabus over the two week course encompasses the most fundamental knowledge in makeup application and hair styling. It also covers essential training in how to promote your own successful business, execute immaculate organisation on a busy and demanding wedding morning and, most importantly, how to build your client base to become a successful wedding makeup artist.

  • Health, safety and hygiene.
  • Colour mixing, colour matching and application techniques for all skin ethnicities and ages.
  • Skin types, cosmetic occlusion, corrective makeup and skin camouflage techniques for pigmentation, birthmarks and tattoo concealment.
  • Natural makeup and flawless skin for bridal and editorial beauty campaigns.
  • Definition makeup, and working with varying eye shapes.
  • Eyebrow shaping, false lash application and creating the perfect lash line flick.
  • The perfect lip – understanding lip shapes, enhancing and reduction colours.
  • Highlighting & contour techniques for both natural bridal and editorial.
  • Airbrushing for high definition, covering light and flawless makeup base, blush, highlight and contour techniques using a variety of shimmers and finishes.
  • Airbrush maintenance, trouble shooting and cleaning.
  • Smokey eyes using both powder and cream shadows.
  • Recognising face shapes and using hairstyles to compliment enhance and correct.
  • Red carpet hair styling. Using pieces and padding for length and volume. Curls, waves, chignons plaits and braids.
  • Clever lifts and tricks that take years off.
  • Decadent decades: Makeup and hair styling that mark the iconic trends of the 1930’s ,1940’s, 1950’s and 1960’s.
  • Working with photographers and understanding photographic perfection without photoshop.
  • Setting up your business. Advertising, networking and pricing. Client organisation and professionalism when running your bridal hair & makeup business. Tax and insurances.
  • Portfolio building and the importance of a good website.
