Once we have received your enquiry, we will contact you for an informal chat, invite you to attend an open day or arrange a virtual call for overseas students.
This is to make sure that the course you have chosen is right for you, you have a clear understanding of what is expected of you, what you can expect from us and of course the industry for which you are about to enter. Once everyone is happy, we will email you with an enrolment form and proceed to invoice.
You must be 18 to enrol on a professional Makeup course however we do offer a selection of Junior workshops for those 11- 17 years of age. We also encourage anyone interested in makeup artistry as a career to join us for our next open day as this will give you everything you need to know about working as a professional makeup artist in the industry.
A non-refundable 25% deposit of the course fee is required to secure your enrolment on any of our full-time courses. The remainder balance will be payable 4 weeks before the start of the course. A reminder will be sent by our accounts department in advance.
How to fund your course is a very important decision for you to make. BAMM is a private training academy and government student loans are not available for our courses.

To be eligible for the bursary which is up to a maximum of £10,000. You first need to be offered a place on our advanced course.
BAMM’s Peter Swords King Media Makeup Course is ScreenSkills Accredited
As a ScreenSkills accredited Academy students are able to apply for ScreenSkills Bursary towards Tuition Fees.
The ScreenSkills bursary is a cash grant designed to remove some of the practical barriers to making progress in the screen industries. Bursaries pay for training or other costs associated with skills development. ScreenSkills bursaries are designed to provide financial assistance to those looking to enter, progress in, return to, or transfer into the screen industries.
Eligibility – you can apply for a bursary if you are:
Eligible to work in the UK (you may be asked to prove this)
Have a UK bank account (you will be asked to prove this)
Are 18 years old or above (you may be asked to prove this)
Currently work in the UK screen industries, or can demonstrate intention to work in the UK screen industries (you will be asked to prove this)
Please be aware applications will be prioritised based on; a clear demonstration of ambition to work in the UK screen industries long-term, course availability and number of spaces open, applying for skills gap or shortage areas.

Private funding; is undoubtedly the best way to pay for your course, if you are in a position to do so. We can also set up a payment plan with you to help break the fees down into more manageable payments over a period of time prior to the course starting.
Payment Plans: We are happy to offer a Payment Plan for any of the Peter Swords King TV & Film Hair & Makeup courses. We would require 50% to be paid prior to the start of the course (25% of this would be a non-refundable deposit to secure you place on the course as is standard procedure), then a further 25% is due 4 weeks before the course starts. The remaining 50% will be divided into stage payments on set dates throughout the course.
BAMM is happy to offer this Payment Plan which is interest free, however any students who fail to make payments on the agreed date will unfortunatley be removed from the course.
*Please be aware, should payments fall into arrears the student will not be permitted to continue training until such time as payment is up to date.
Credit Cards & Loans: We do accept credit cards. Please make sure to do your research and shop around for the best rate choosing an acceptable ‘APR’ before you apply.
Card Payments: We accept card payments over the phone and in the BAMM office in person.
Creative Skillset: Eligible participants can apply for a bursary of up to 80% for freelancers under the Film Bursary Scheme. (This is only available to film professionals who have been actively working in this industry and the maximum amount you can claim is a funding grant of up to £800)
Student Cancellations: The 25% course deposit is non-refundable should you decide to cancel. In the event of a cancellation after full payment of course fees have been received, BAMM will offer the student the option to defer the course. Cancellation requests received 28 – 42 days prior to the course start date will be subject to a cancellation fee of 25% of the course fee in addition to the 25% deposit. No refunds will be given for cancellations later than 28 days in advance of the course start date.
BAMM Cancellations: We reserve the right to cancel or alter a course or programme at any time and offer an alternative date. We will not accept liability for consequential or indirect loss.
Taster Days and Workshops: BAMM does not offer refunds on these small courses, however we are happy to transfer your date should you not be able to attend your original booking.
Study Visa’s: We have many international students at BAMM some of whom are required to obtain a short-term study visa. The process is very simple, and we are more than happy to assist with your application by writing a formal letter which can also be helpful for setting up a British bank account and securing rental accommodation.
International students: We are happy to take payments from oversees students. Our accounts department will issue you with an IBAN Number for payable invoices.
Working in the UK: This is dependent upon your country of origin and personal circumstances. Please note we cannot guarantee that work experience (if studying on the Peter Swords King course) will coincide with your length of stay in the UK.
We hold a digs list detailing contacts of local accommodation providers, if you wish to house share with your fellow classmates, we will help you facilitate communication with one another.
We pride ourselves on the aftercare we provide our graduates which is on-going for as long as you need us. If you are a graduate of Peter Swords- King, he will offer you the chance to a work experience placement on his latest film (unless he is working overseas or not able to do so for any other reasons). The work placement is paid and could range from 1 day to a full time position as his main team trainee on his latest film. Our tutors will, whenever possible, take graduates and will help to put you forward for work if they feel it is appropriate.
The BAMM Agency is a free agency service provided to give you a platform for your work and website. Prospective clients or the BAMM office will use this to contact you directly as and when opportunities become available. Finally by way of our excellent business plan and industry contacts we will prepare you with a targeted business strategy to help you gain work experience and make the right connections (this can often be paid or unpaid) but is essential to get you moving in the right circles and building your CV.
