The Wig Making Course

The Wig Making Course covers the basics in the ancient art of knotting for facial postiche and wig weaving for hair extensions.

The Course

Students will be asked to design a character, either from their own imagination or inspiration from television or film, which will be applied to a model for a final professional Photoshoot assessment.

This course is an essential for anyone wishing to extend his or her knowledge with respect to working within the TV, Film or theatre industry.

  • Knotting and taking measurements for facial postiche and head wraps
  • Wig weaving, and making crepe hair
  • Wrapping the hair for a wig
  • Blocking a wig
  • Washing the wig on a block
  • Padding up a block
  • Setting a wig with 1920’s finger waves
  • Professional Photoshoot of character creation

Course Dates

22nd May – 2nd June 2017

(2 weeks, Monday – Friday)

9.30am – 4.30pm, with an hour for lunch
